100 Hour Intensive Week 6:

February 12-February 17, 2024

MONDAY February 12, Day 21:

  • Mantra Meditation PRACTICE with us. CLICK HERE to access the Other Mantras doc. JOURNAL PROMPT: Consider the “group effect”. Stef brought this up about journaling too. What’s the difference of journaling, doing mantra, asana, etc alone vs in a group? Self-guided vs with a teacher? At home at a studio? How can you consider this as you teach your own classes, online + in-person? 1 hr, YTT1.

  • I forgot to hit record, but we had a great practice exploring the full standing sequence and about the first half of primary. My gift to you? Guest Teacher, Mindy Pistacchio: PRACTICE Ashtanga Standing Sequence with modifications with Mindy. Mindy is a massage therapist as well as a co-trainer with our yoga school and teacher of many movements like swim, ski, etc. You’ll find her anatomy classes and more in our ONLINE MODULES for both the 200 + 300 hour certifications. Read Mindy’s bio and meet the rest of the training team by clicking here. 1 hr, YTT1.

    • HOMEWORK: WRITE a BIO. Consider you’ve been asked to guest teach, perhaps for an organization or a private event, maybe at a public community offering or small gathering. Write a BIOGRAPHY, 5-10 sentences in the third person, ie “Chrissy (Insert your name) loves teaching yoga….” Upload this bio and a PHOTO of yourself to our media album. Already done this for another part of the program??? Either use your same bio and photo, or do it again fresh! Theoretically, this bio would be used to introduce you and your classes to the community. .5 hour, YTT4.

  • Asana Lab: WATCH PARSVOTTONASANA. Remember for every lab to try and photograph yourself and upload HERE to our YTT media folder. .5 hrs, YTT2.

TUESDAY February 13, Day 22:

  • PRACTICE Chandra Yoga RESTORATIVE. 1 hr, YTT1.

  • BOOK CLUB: Sutras Book 2; #39 READ first then WATCH. Leave comments as discussion, and JOURNAL. 1 hour, YTT3

  • Relevant to our current discussion and exploration of headstand I’m including a reading from Module 3 of our 200 hour training, *please* READ this article and consider: Will you incorporate (or do you already?) inversions in your own practice? In your teaching? How can we approach these asanas fairly + safely?JOURNAL + Email Chrissy a short summary of your thoughts! (.5 hr, YTT2)

THURSDAY February 15, Day 23:

SATURDAY February 17, Day 24:

  • 6-6:45 am PRACTICE Mudra Meditation and DEFINE: Pratyahara. CLICK HERE to view the Mudra page and save it for reference, use passcode MUDRA2020 to enter. 50 minutes, YTT1.

  • 7-7:50 am WATCH Lesson Planning Elements doc linked here, thru the Virtual Lens. Leave questions or comments. 1 hr, YTT4.

    • HOMEWORK: I forgot to assign this during the video, but go ahead, create a lesson plan for an online class! Consider: timing, theme, etc. Marketing, publishing vs LIVE, and plan it all out. UPLOAD your lesson plan, photo or screenshot, to our media album. .5 hr, YTT4.

  • 8-9 am Practice VINYASA with Chrissy. Focus on breath and bandhas, follow the feel good. 1 hour, YTT1.
